Customer Migration Newsletter

Monday 6th March 2023

What is happening?

ChannelUnity’s server infrastructure is currently undergoing a refresh. This is to ensure the ongoing robust security of our platform and will allow us to provide more reliability and capacity as our business grows. The new infrastructure has been tested with a limited number of customers already and we are now able to accelerate the roll-out.

When?

Over the next four weeks, all customer accounts will be migrated to the new infrastructure. This will be conducted outside of normal working hours to minimise any risk. In most cases, accounts will take under an hour to transfer. During that period, you will not be able to log in to your ChannelUnity account, and our platform will stop its normal activities, including transferring sales orders from marketplaces to your systems, or sending updates to marketplaces. Once the migration is complete, the new servers will pick up where the old ones left off and everything will automatically resynchronise.

In a handful of cases, the migration may take longer than one hour. In these cases, we will reach out to you to arrange a convenient time. In any event, if you wish to select when you would prefer your migration to happen, please contact our support team. When logging into ChannelUnity, when your account has migrated you will be automatically redirected to a new URL (channelunityapps.com).

What do I need to do?

In most cases, nothing.

For those customers using Magento or WooCommerce, before the migration, please update your ChannelUnity plugin to the latest version as published on the Magento or WooCommerce app store. We will let you know the precise date of your own migration in due course.

For those customers integrating with our Custom API, you should read the following article which describes some technical details you will need to consider with your API integration.

Finally for those customers who have whitelisted ChannelUnity servers in the past, the IP list has been updated. Please check and update your firewall accordingly.
