The Fruugo marketplace is slightly different to ChannelUnity’s other integrations, mainly due to their product data requirements and how product listings are uploaded. This does require some initial setup work to be done by our support staff. If you have already been through this process and are ready to add Fruugo as a marketplace in your ChannelUnity account, then please click here.
If you are wishing to create an account with Fruugo in order to list products on their marketplace, you will need to have at least 1000 available products for listing, and on initial upload at least 60% of your products will need to be uploaded. All of these products will need to be in stock, and to upload successfully without errors. The onboarding team at Fruugo will give you feedback on the changes required but it can be a time consuming process. With that in mind, many of our merchants opt to take up a managed setup approach, if this is if interest to you please contact our sales team at sales@channelunity.com.
We will also need to provide your details to Fruugo as a potential seller, and they will contact you to confirm a pre sign-up and approval process. Please contact our support staff (by email to support@channelunity.com), with any additional details we will need, which are:
- Company Name (if different to your CU merchant ID),
- Website URL,
- Contact name, email, and phone number if possible.
We will then contact Fruugo with these details.
This approval can take some time and it is a good idea to undertake some checks on your data to ensure you will meet Fruugo’s requirements, you can find more details on this here:
The Ins and Outs of Selling on Fruugo
Some of the most important things to check are your Categories, both in your shopping cart and the mapping for them in your ChannelUnity account as Fruugo are very strict about this, so please ensure your categories are mapped as accurately as possible (details on category mapping can be found here.)
Once you have been approved by Fruugo and are ready for upload, we can either set up and connect the Fruugo Channel for you, if you provide us with your Fruugo login details, or you can connect it up yourself using the following instructions here.
Once connected, the product upload process is slightly different for Fruugo than our other marketplace integrations. Rather than a direct upload to Fruugo’s API, the product details are kept on a unique URL created for your account (This will already have been created by our support staff during the initial setup process). Fruugo will regularly check this URL for product data, until this happens products will remain in the Uploading section of ChannelUnity.
Once Fruugo visit your unique URL, the products will move directly to Listed in ChannelUnity. The ‘Fix Required’ status in CU is not used for Fruugo.
Price updates are sent through with the product data, so will not update until Fruugo have checked the URL and processed the data. Stock updates are not subject to this procedure, and are sent directly to Fruugo, so there will be no delay with these updating on the marketplace.
